XM-25 Stainless Steel is Martensitic Age-hardenable Stainless Steel, UNS S45000 is the UNS number. And Alloy 450 is the common industry name. very good corrosion resistance with moderate strength, resists atmospheric corrosion including salt water atmospheres, excellent resistance to rusting and pitting in 5 and 20% salt spray at 35°C and oxidation up to 650°C, maximum service temperature for continuous service is 425°C. Niobium content minimum is 8 times the carbon content. XM-25 Hot-finished or cold-finished rounds, squares, hexagons, bar shapes included. these shapes may be produced by hot rolling or forging, acc. to UNS S45000, AMS 5763, ASME SA564 (XM-25), T S45000, ASME SA 705 (XM-25), ASTM A564 (XM-25), ASTM A693 (XM-25), ASTM A705 (XM-25). XM-25 shall be furnished in the solution-annealed condition, or in the equalized and oven-tempered condition. XM-25 may be furnished in the solution-annealed or aged condition. Machinability

Welding

UNS S4500 / XM-25 stainless steel alloy can be welded using shielded methods to reduce contamination.

Hot Working

UNS S4500 / XM-25 stainless steel alloy can be hot worked by soaking at 1150-1177°C (2100-2150°F) followed by cooling and fully annealing.

Cold Working

UNS S4500 / XM-25 stainless steel alloy can be cold worked using all common techniques.
